Day 3

The main goal of day 3 was to get the enemy and player combat  working and fun. The day started with the creation of enemy spawners. When entering a room a set number of enemies will spawn and begin to attack the player.

Ive had trouble with the damage and attacking for both the player and the enemies. I was using the On Overlap Event within UE4 but this has seemed to not always connect, however changing this to an On Hit Event also has not managed to work. Enemies now work using a projectile which is attacked to their hands which only activate while the enemy is in an attack state. There are also larger enemies which spawn through some later spawn points with more health and damage.

Projectile towers are now in and working, they have the ability to rotate while firing and release projectiles more quickly depending on the difficulty of the area. Along with this the keys now serve a purpose with locked doors blocking progress to later areas.

LeeAnn has spent the day working on models for the environment, detailing for the shoreline and temple interior and the collectible helmets for the player to uncover throughout the world.

Tomorrow will see the implementation of the final level design, platforming and trap rooms and some new combat encounters. Sound and menus are also going to be the important additions in the morning.
