The mists blanket the land, wraiths stalk the roads and forts lie crumbling and filled with terrible creatures. Even death itself has abandoned this place, each time you fall you awaken again at a totem. Make your way to the Duke's Throne and find the answers about this land.

MIST is a Hex crawl trifold where you take the role of a warrior returning to their kingdom. Instead of the home you left you find a strange land covered in a dense and blanketing mist. Now you must travel to the Duke's Throne, fighting undead, soldiers and deadly wraiths while upgrading your character. You define the story and world as you play, interpret and build the story of this land in as much depth as you wish.

To play MIST you need:

  • Pen and paper (or printed character sheets)
  • Handful of six-sided dice
  • 1 twelve-sided dice

Purchasing MIST give you access to the Colour Trifold, Black & White version for home printing and the character sheet and map needed to play.

Hey Marc, I've recently got this, Wail, and the Wail expansion, and wanted to tell you your stuff is phenomenal. My dream would be to see Wail expanded into a much bigger game. It already evokes so much with what's there. Great work and hope you keep up the games.

I had question about Mist if you don't mind. It seems you can either travel or rest. When you rest, do you roll for an encounter? It seems like if you didn't, you could just keep resting for free and recover all your Vigor, unless I'm missing something. Thanks and have a good one!

Kyle

Thank you so much Kyle that is genuinely so nice of you to say and I'm so happy to hear you like my work!

Wail was meant to be expanded but some life stuff happened which put me in a bad headspace and I never finished it. Though recently have picked it up and am working on some extra content and a kinda of spiritual successor to Wail.

As for Mist I never specified that resting should only be done once but that was how I would play. Though as resting and reflecting on your surroundings was meant as a narrative/world building mechanic then staying in one place for a few turns means you could further expand the story/depth of that area. One idea behind Mist and Wail was the map you generate could be used again in other games or campaigns and built upon in the future.

I'm enjoying this little game, I've just noticed one little thing that irked me. The 'Wrath' ability and the 'Smite' ability preform the exact same function, but Wrath requires a higher roll to to succeed. Curious to know if this was intentional.

Oh I missed that when I was updating the miracles. Smite should read deal 1d6 harm instead of 2d6. I'll do an updated PDF and get it uploaded soon. Thanks for letting me know!
