Hi! Gave this a try yesterday, really like how it plays! I played one round, on layout two (the one with the terrain piece in the center), against a cultist, husk and priest.

Some things I noticed:
- I like the priest's mechanics, but his lack of offensive options made the final leg of the round a bit funny, as my warrior had to keep chasing him down across the map while he healed his wounds every turn!
- In the Player's turn, the third possible action is 'Use a Skill'. I couldn't really find what this refers to specifically - I'm assuming the Holy Icon and Lucky Foot?

Had a lot of fun with this one round, and I'm definitely going to give it another go sometime soon!

Adding on to this after another playtest - are you supposed to roll a Recover roll prior to your first activation? Because in some cases, if you don't activate first, the enemy can just waltz up to you and instakill you, as you don't have any Stamina yet! That doesn't seem entirely intentional.

Hey thanks so much for playing and the feedback, sorry it's taken a few days for me to see this. I'm planning on an updated version which amends a few mechanics when I find the time/energy to work on it. The update will hopefully clarify a few mechanics and

  • For the priest it definitely needs a little tuning but your round against him does sound funny haha
  • Ignore the use skills. That was from an earlier version with a few more non passive upgrades that couple be gained using SP which were scrapped.
  • You should also activate at the start of your turn, if the enemies have attacked first then you will still recover on your first turn. And you also start each encounter/round at full Stamina (it says recover full HP but should read stamina as they're the same thing)
  • Recovery is something I want to refine in the next update but for now if it's a struggle I'd recommend gaining +1 Stamina to each recovery roll.

No problem! Glad to hear that a new version is coming, I'm really liking the game so far!

I think I know what my main mistake was now - I started with 0 Stamina every time! That explains why I was instantly dying to the enemies sometimes :P
